Perth City Center, WA

We spent half a day to explore the Perth City Center. It includes some important tourist attractions such as Murray street mall, Hay street mall, London Court, Barrack Square and Swan Bells, and Northbridge.

Perth is the capital and largest city of Western Australia. It is the four-most populous city in Australia, with an estimated population of 2.02 million (as of 30 June 2014) living in Greater Perth.

Murray and Hay street malls --
The two main shopping malls in Perth are the Murray and Hay street malls. Both of the malls are closed to traffic and offer a wide range of specialty stores. There are several arcades that run off either Murray street mall or the Hay street mall and link the city from St George's Terrace to Wellington street.

London Court --
London Court is a shopping arcade located in the central business district in Perth. It was built in 1937 by wealthy gold financier and businessman, Claude de Bernales for residential and commercial purposes. The arcade runs between the Hay Street mall and St Georges Terrace and is an important tourist attraction in the City of Perth.

Barrack Square and Swan Bell Tower --
Barrack Square is an open public square on the foreshore of Perth Water on the Swan River. It is located at the southern end of Barrack Street near the central business district of Perth. The Swan Bell Tower is located at Barrack Square, as well as cafés, restaurants and jetties.
